Smart Scanning capabilities are developing at a rapid rate within the Kyocera/Copystar line of MFPs because of HYPAS.
Healthcare workflow is being improved nationwide with the use of a new operating system called HyPAS (Hybrid Platform for Advanced Solutions). HyPAS uses Java programming language to customize applications to run directly from your MFP screen.
For example, anyone can walk up to the MFP, scan a patient's ID (or insurance) card, and push a button to print ID labels that will accompany your patient from station to station. A label can be used to make patient wrist ID bracelets and another to follow blood work to the lab. Later, the results from a blood test can be scanned and archived directly into the patient database folder from any of the MFPs in the area. The MFP is capable of intelligently scanning the results from a patient blood test report and interacting with the patient database on the network..
